Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
HallyuMate (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit hallyumate.com.
Information We Collect
When you visit HallyuMate we collect usage information — pages visited, referring site, country, browser and device type. Two tools collect it: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies, and Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, which uses a cookie with a random visitor ID (see Cookies & Analytics). Neither tells us who you are.
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. If you contact us via our contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, message).
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
• Operate and improve the HallyuMate website
• Send newsletter subscribers our weekly digest (with your explicit consent)
• Respond to enquiries submitted via the contact form
• Analyse traffic and usage patterns to improve content
• Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Cookies & Analytics
HallyuMate uses two analytics tools. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, stores no personal data and does not follow you across sites or sessions. Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (kept for up to two years) to tell returning visits apart; it never receives your name, email address or full IP address.
Google's cookies are currently set for every visitor. A consent banner for visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland is planned; once it is in place, these cookies will stay off there until you allow them. Until then you can block them with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or your browser's cookie settings.
We do not run advertising or ad-tracking scripts. If that changes, this page will say so before it happens, and consent will be asked for where the law requires it.
Third-Party Services
HallyuMate may use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
• Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless site analytics
• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics — traffic statistics; sets cookies, see Cookies & Analytics
• Beehiiv — email newsletter delivery, if you subscribe
• Vercel — website hosting
• MongoDB Atlas — database hosting
• Cloudflare R2 — image hosting
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these services separately.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
• Right to access the data we hold about you
• Right to correct inaccurate data
• Right to request deletion of your data
• Right to withdraw consent for marketing communications
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for EU/UK residents)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@hallyumate.com.
Data Retention
We retain email addresses of newsletter subscribers until you unsubscribe. Contact form enquiries are retained for up to 12 months for follow-up purposes and then deleted. Cloudflare analytics data exists only in aggregate form. Google Analytics keeps event data tied to its random visitor ID for 14 months and aggregate reports after that.
Children's Privacy
HallyuMate is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Contact Us
For any privacy-related questions or to exercise your data rights, contact us at hello@hallyumate.com or use the contact form on our Contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
